Management Team
Our team of investment professionals is made up of highly-qualified professionals with multiple backgrounds: Corporate finance, financing and capital markets expertise, technical knowledge, long-standing project and transaction management experience, all gained with the leading firms, including BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank, Fortis, HSH Nordbank, Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley and Royal Bank of Scotland.
Our team also has valuable experience in working with governments, utility companies (both national and privately-owned), grid operators, power regulators and other quasi-sovereign entities that have high relevance for energy projects, conventional or renewable.
The combined team has worked on and completed over 2500 MW wind, solar, hydro biomass and conventional energy projects across Western Europe, Central & Eastern Europe, the Middle East, the US, Asia, Australia and Latin America. The aggregate value of the renewables and infrastructure transactions led by our professionals amounts to more than €15 billion. This experience gives us the expertise and capability to create value for our clients.

Kim Christian Köhler, Partner
Over 20 years of experience in corporate & project finance, private equity, financial sponsor coverage and energy & renewables.
In 2011, Kim set up Green Evolution Capital together with several partners, to focus on corporate finance and investment advisory in the energy sector.
Before that, Kim spent over 15 years in investment banking including with HSH Nordbank, running the wind and solar energy business, as well as with Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank and Paribas in private equity and leveraged finance.
As such, he focused on working with financial investors, project developers, utilities, IPPs and suppliers on financing and structuring a variety of projects across Europe and North America.
In addition to his financial expertise, Kim brings along a deep understanding of the technical aspects of the energy projects. This enhances the dialogue with our clients and GEC's understanding of the underlying assets.
Kim holds a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Chemical Engineering and Waste Management from Berlin’s Technical University and a BA from Paris Business School, ESCP.
Yves Schaus, Partner
Over 15 years of experience in energy, asset finance, infrastructure finance, project & corporate finance and private equity.
Recent experience at GEC includes working with European institutional investors on investments in solar and wind farms and other real assets, as well as working with the owners of renewable energy assets to maximise asset efficiency and value. Projects also include structuring and capital raising for investment vehicles that invest in real assets. Yves brings a robust network of contacts in the institutional investor community to GEC and its clients.
Yves previously worked in senior positions at leading investment banks in London: Royal Bank of Scotland and Lehman Brothers. Responsibilities included restructurings of non-performing project finance loan books, securitisations, asset-backed finance transactions as well as strategic advice for a wide range of corporates, European governments and commercial banks.
Yves holds an MBA from INSEAD of Fontainebleau, France, as well a degree in business economics from the University of Brussels, Belgium. Fluent in French, German, Spanish and English
